I opened Chine Box about 6 years ago in Austintown, Ohio. I was working at a shop with a few other guys before that, and was pretty unhappy about how the shop was running.
I decided to save my money and open my own shop and run it they way I felt was right. I wanted the shop to be 100% custom and to be more of a personal experience. The way I do things at Chine Box is more of a process, than just walking into a shop, picking something off the wall, getting it tattooed, pay, and leave.
I meet with my clients and discuss ideas, size, location, and approach to the piece. I do multiple sketches and photo shop renderings until both myself and client are happy and excited about the piece.
I feel that it's very necessary to know a little about your clients to assure they get something that represents there personality, which has led to getting to know lots of amazing people and making many new friends.
I take such personal pride in my work and treat even the simplest ideas like my babies. I am very proud of what the shop has become and am excited for the future.
